In 1763, Nolli’s contemporary, Giuseppe Vasi, published a guidebook for the amateur tourist to the Eternal City entitled Itinerario istruttivo diviso in otto giornate per ritrovare con facilità tutte le antiche e moderne Magnificenze.It complemented his Delle magnificenze di Roma antica e moderna,by breaking down that magnum opus into eight walking itineraries through parts of Rome both "stupendous and obscure."
